End of Term
I hope you have all had a chance to read the report that came home today and have celebrated some of the fantastic learning and progress that has been made! Remember if you have any thoughts or would like to discuss anything I am available throughout the holidays. A picture paints a thousand words and to follow is a selection of some of the things we have been doing in Rm3 leading upto the end of term. Stay warm and have a wonderful holiday....don't forget we start our Commonwealth Games focus in the new term, with Samoa the country we will be looking at more closely. Any discussions, research and reading you can do on this over the holidays will definitely help....on that note Tofa Soifua!!
Rippa Rugby - our final session last Thursday where Room 8 took the sessions and did a really fabulous job of guiding Rm3 through both sportsmanship and skills. Sportsmanship is sometimes the most challenging aspect for some in team sports so it is great to have big kid mentors!
Sometimes during teacher read the children pull out our beanbag and giant pillow to relax in while we share a chapter or picture book after a busy lunch. Last week with smaller reading groups Des invited some of the children to sit comfortably during their reading group time. As you can see this went down a treat what an inviting way to enjoy a good book. If you have any clean beanbags or cushions you may want to donate we would love to have them so more kids can enjoy...
Matariki kite making was a much loved activity as the children used their understandings of what celebrating matariki can be about. Again we were lucky to have the expertise of Rm8 students as they had completed their kites earlier in the week. What patience and collaboration all of the children showed towards one another!
