The week before production....
Wow there will be some tired children heading home this weekend after a busy week practicing hard on our production. There were some nerves and butterflies in our first whole school practice on Thursday but Friday they were much more seasoned and showed stunning performance professionalism. It is an exciting process to go through, and although being in front of a crowd is not for everyone, all of the children have made a huge effort! Despite the interruptions to our regular program we had an exciting capacity session, with some interesting discussions about more, less and how shape sometimes doesn't affect how much something can hold.

Hands On and Feet On...
After some technical issues I have just managed to load a blog about our Space a Jump experience and now to share some of our exciting hands on learning from the last few weeks and our final soccer session.
Our final soccer session was fantastic despite many tired children from Artsplash the previous day. Not only did we finally get outside to play but we had a player from the white ferns providing some expert tips which was really special. The outdoor games were girls vs girls and boys vs boys, and bought some interesting challenges for some players with more space and no walls to stop the ball rolling away! I was so proud of the feedback we received from the coaches regarding the full participation of all of our children. So well done parents all the support and sporting encouragement has given your children the confidence to get out there and have a go!
The best way to learn maths is hands first and we tested our fraction knowledge by making fairy bread and pizza. Ideal shapes to explore ideas of whole, halves, and quarters. The fairy bread was an all round favourite, spaghetti pizza however bought some hilarious writing about making pizza that was "tasted yuk".
Space jump
Wow, what a vibrant and energetic show we were treated to this afternoon. The Space Jump Team visited us this afternoon with their special NZ book themed space story. It was an interactive spectacular full of outstanding singing and acting that kept the whole school laughing and engaged throughout. Rm 3 were lucky to have Beau, Libby and Aiden be selected to give the "aliens" a hand....
